Key answers regarding VPD, DLI, and your grow environment.
VPD measures the pressure difference pulling moisture from the leaf. Too low, and the plant can't transpire. Too high, and it closes stomata for protection. The sweet spot (0.8 - 1.2 kPa) ensures maximum growth rates.
Think of PPFD as the intensity of water flow right now, while DLI is the total bucket of water filled by the end of the day. For yield calculations, DLI (Total Daily Light) is the metric that counts.
It depends on the stage. Clones like ~0.8 kPa (high humidity), Veg ~1.0 kPa, and late Flower often targets 1.2 - 1.4 kPa to prevent mold while maintaining transpiration.
In principle yes, but outdoor conditions fluctuate so wildly that precise control is impossible. Our tools are optimized for controlled indoor environments (tents/rooms).
Because temperature alone isn't enough. If it's 25°C but humidity is extremely low (e.g., 30%), the pull on the plant is too strong, causing stress. The tool warns you about this invisible danger.
